Strategic Web Design for Housing Cooperatives
Your community, connected.
A public website and private member portal designed for housing cooperatives — simplifying communication, supporting transparency, and making everyday co-op life easier.

Designing member portals for housing co-ops in Victoria and beyond
Every co-op needs clear communication, accessible information, and systems that don’t create more work. This approach brings everything together—thoughtfully, securely, and with real people in mind.
A Connected Website + Member Portal
Your Public Website
Your co-op’s public website is a multi-page resource designed to clearly explain how your community operates—and how housing co-ops work more broadly.
It provides space to:
- Share how your co-op functions, including governance and day-to-day life
- Explain co-op housing for people who may be new to the model
- Point prospective members to external housing resources and supports
Membership applications are made available only when your co-op opens intake, helping boards manage demand without ongoing administrative pressure. When applicable, applicants can also update their status after set timeframes (such as a six-month review period), with flexibility to reflect each co-op’s own policies.
This approach keeps your public-facing information clear, accurate, and aligned with how your co-op actually operates.
Your Private Member Portal
The private member portal supports the internal life of the co-op—bringing communication, coordination, and documentation into one shared space.
Within the portal, members can:
- Participate in committee-specific discussion spaces
- Book common areas or shared resources
- Submit and track maintenance requests
- Stay informed through board and community updates
- Access rules, policies, minutes, and other key documents
Rather than relying on scattered emails or shared drives, the portal provides a consistent, easy-to-use environment that supports transparency and participation across the community.
Built from Lived Experience
I’ve lived in a housing co-op for over 15 years and currently serve on my co-op’s board. This work is shaped by firsthand experience—balancing governance, community, and everyday life.
The goal isn’t complexity.
It’s clarity, continuity, and systems that support the people using them.
